Edward Franklin Ruby was born in St. Louis, Missouri on November 1, 1866 and died at the university Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa following and operation of cancer of the stomach. He passed away May 3, 1925 having reached the age of 58 years, 6 months and 3 days.

At the age of five he moved with his parents to Pauline, Nebraska. On October 8, 1884, he was married to Elizabeth Cantwell. Seven years later they moved to Iowa and have lived in this locality since that time.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Ruby, his parents, Mr. & Mrs. John W. Ruby and 11 children:
