About Edward Whittaker

According to the sources listed below, Whitakers originally came from England via Abraham Whitaker Sr (1595), although notes, dates and lineage are far from clear. Abraham Whitaker Jr (1626-1674) died at an early age. His son Edward Whitaker born between 1640-1649 with a marriage dated 1664 in Kingston. Abraham Whitaker made his will which was validated as 1674. In the will there are various references to money for his various wives and children. Edward Whitaker of Beverly, his son, sold his share of land 1674-1675 and his son James was born in 1675.
The Whitakers, starting with Rachel’s father, had the following direct lineage: Samuel Whitaker (b. 1715)) ->James Whitaker (b. 1675) ->Edward Whitaker (b. 1649) -> Abraham Whitaker, I (b. 1626)-> Abraham Whitaker, II. (b. 1590 in England).
