Edwin first married Frances Porter she dies around 1869 and he then married Ann KEIGHTLEY (nee YATES) who had previously been married to Samuel KEIGHTLEY. Ann and Samuel had issue John and Elizabeth Keightley. Elizabeth went on to marry Edwin and Frances' son Edwin Alfred.
The curiousity is that in the 1871 census John and Elizabeth Keightley are described as son and daughter-in-law not step children - this is either a misunderstanding or an archaic use of in-law
According to the 1851 census Edwin was 'married' to Frances and had a daughter Emma aged 11 however there is a clear marriage certificate showing he married Fanny Porter in 1848.
