Edwin Thomas Baldwin was born in Westford, Massachusetts, the marriage records to his 2nd wife Sarah Chandler Kendrick Baldwin states his father was a manufacturer. The marriage records to his 1st wife state he was a farmer. His parents were Edwin and Ophra Moors Baldwin.

He lived in Nashua, New Hampshire and worked as a machinist. He married Clara Louise ... I believe Ward, the marriage record is difficult to read. She died from consumption April 29, 1859, their child Clara Louisa died May 20, 1859.

They are not on the large family stone with him, 2nd wife Sarah and son Thomas, but on a smaller stone of the same beautiful granite behind the larger family stone.

He remarried Sarah Chandler Kendrick of New Hampshire, October 6, 1861 and they had three children. Edwin, Jr., Thomas and Emma Leslie.

Edwin was a music teacher. He was also a musician in the Civil War. In early May 1861, Baldwin's Cornet Band, of Manchester, under the leadership of Edwin Thomas Baldwin, joined the regiment. The law at the time made no provision for regimental bands, thus band members were not mustered in until vacancies occurred in companies, and where they became as privates or company musicians but continued their duty in the band.

The 1st New Hampshire was commanded by Colonel Mason Tappan and later assigned to General Patterson's Army of the Shenandoah. In August 1861, the 1st New Hampshire was mustered out at the end of its three months. The average age of the officers was 36 and enlisted men was 24.

Edwin Thomas Baldwin, son of Edwin Baldwin and Oprah Moors, was born on July 9, 1832, in Nashua, New Hampshire (death notice says New Ipswich, New Hampshire), married on 1st, October 30, 1854, with Mary Louisa ROBERTSON, who died on April 20, 1859.

Note: His mother died on May 28, 1835; father remarried 1839 to Mary Ann Ballard, who d. January 25, 1845. His father re-married again in 1846 to Mary B. Lowell; he died 7/4/1848 and his wife, Mary B. Lowell died in September of 1848.

Child was: Clara L. (1856)

He m. 2nd, October 6, 1861, with Sarah Chandler KENDRICK, b. September 13, 1837. In March 1880, they live in Manchester, New Hampshire.

Children were: Edwin R. (1862), Emma L. (1864), and Thomas C. (1865).
