Edwin Henry Beck

Edwin Henry Beck was born in Tyndall, South Dakota, June 19, 1909 to John and Rose (nee Schmoll) Beck. Edwin and Bertha Frederick were united in marriage at the Saint Paul Lutheran Church, north of Delmont, South Dakota, February 16, 1933. Mr. Beck died in the Sioux Valley Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota on Thursday, February 10, 1983. He attained the age of 73 years, 7 months and 22 days.

The couple farmed near Delmont until retiring in 1978. Mr. Beck was a charter member of the Delmont Baseball Association and an active member of the Zion Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his wife, Bertha; 2 daughters, Mrs. John (Lianne) Gunnare of Wagner, South Dakota; and Janice Jones of Shawnee, Kansas; three sons, Ronald Beck, Banks, Oregon, James Beck of Palisades, Colorado and Charles Beck of Delmont, South Dakota; 13 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Besides his parents he has been preceded in death by one sister and one brother.
