Edwin Stanton Feccheimer was the president of the Chicago Ethical Society. Feccheimer, who later in life changed his last name to Fetcher, was also the Winnetka school board president. Feccheimer originally had gone to Chicago to become secretary treasurer for the Winslow Brother's company, but rapidly became involved in social activities and public education in the north shore community of Winnetka. Fechheimer died in 1944.

Edwin Stanton Fechhemier married Margaret Root in 1905. The couple had five children together: four sons and one daughter.
