About Edwin Headley Holgate
Edwin Headley Holgate (1892 - 1977) was a Canadian artist, painter and engraver who became a member of the Group of Seven artists in 1930 and was known as the "eighth member" of the Group. He was active in the Montreal arts scene and worked and taught at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts from 1928-1934. Holgate worked as a War Artist in England during World War II. He was elected as an associate of the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts.
