Edwin Kotze (1956 - 2020)

Brief overview:

Edwin (64), who farmed on an agricultural smallholding in Bufflesdrift, Roodeplaat, and friend, Rudie Botha, who was visiting, were attacked on 20th June 2020, around 23h30. Three armed males gained access through a bathroom window, and Edwin was shot dead. Rudie was tied up and assaulted.

The shooters fled with various stolen items and a VW Amarok bakkie. Tshwane Metro Police later spotted the bakkie and gave chase, but the bakkie crashed into a fence and the suspects managed to escape. Marius Muller of Afriforum told Netwerk24 that Edwin stayed alone and Rudie visited his friend on Saturday night.
