Edwin Ray Lee was the son of Edwin Charles and Effie Doret Box Lee. He married Mina Manchester May 13, 1913 in Price, Utah. The were the parents of Douglas Ray, Virginia F., Edwin Russell, Clinton Lincoln, Garreth Gay, Sterling Calvin, Richard L. and Anna Jean Lee. Mina died in 1945 and Ray married Cora Charlotte Hicks on April 18, 1946 in Evanston, Wyoming. _________________________________ The Daily Herald, Nov. 5, 1964

HEART ATTACK CLAIMS OREM RESIDENT, 74

OREM-Edwin Ray Lee, 74, of 84 E. 5th N., died at 5 a.m. today at his home of a heart condition.

He was born Oct. 7, 1890, in Springville, the son of Edwin Charles and Effie Box Lee.

He was married to Mina Manchester, in May 1913. She died in 1945.

He then married Cora Hicks April 18, 1946, in Evanston, Wyo.

He lived on a cattle ranch in Wyoming as a young man. A contractor all his life, he was in the construction business in Price and came to Provo in 1934. In 1956 he moved to Orem where he lived until his death. He was the owner and manager of Lee's Sand and Gravel. He also was a partner in the Heber Ready-Mix Co.

Mr. Lee was a member of the LDS Church and the Orem First Ward. He enjoyed traveling and spent winters in Palm Desert, Calif.

Survivors include his wife of Orem; five sons, and two daughters, Douglas Lee of Lander, Wyo., Clinton Lee of Provo, Lt. Col. Garreth Lee of U.S. Air Force in Ismir, Turkey; Sterling Lee of Heer; Richard Lee and Mrs. Dominic (Anna Jean) Gimpola, N.J.; Mrs. George (Virginia) Halstead of Glouster, Mass.; 28 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; three step-children, Mrs. Howard (Vivian) Betts of Heber; Melvin Hodson of Arcadia, Calif.; and Mrs. H.R. (Bernice) Upchurch of Decatur, Ill.; three brothers, Claude Lee of Orange, Calif., Clyde Lee of Mission Hills, Calif., and Sharp Lee of Craig, Colo.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday in the Berg Mortuary, Orem, Bishop Clifton L. Pyne, of the Orem First Ward will officiate. Friends may call at the mortuary Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday prior to services. Burial will be in Provo City Cemetery.
