PIONEER OF BOUNTIFUL CLOSES LONG CAREER
Bountiful, Feb. 15. - Edwin Pace, a pioneer resident of Bountiful, died at his home here Tuesday. Mr. pace had been confined to his bed only one month and until his last illness had enjoyed god health. He endured all the hardships of pioneer life. After entering this valley with Lorenzo Snow's company he moved to Sessions settlement, now Bountiful in September of 1848. Bountiful has been his home ever since. his first home was a willow hut of one room, built around with grass and sod. into this he moved with his mother, a small brother and a sister, the first winter after his arrival. Since coming her with a ox team as a boy of 17 his life was devoted to the upbiulding of this state. he held positions of trust all his life. He was a member of the first town board of Bountiful and served man years in the bishopric of one of the early wards of Bountiful. Mr. pace had the privilege of listening to Joseph Smith's address to the Nauvoo legion. He was preceded in death by tow wives and seven children and is survived by 15 children, 123 grandchildren and 136 great-grandchildren. As a citizen his life was ideal, as a father and a friend he was tender and provident. Funeral services will be held in the South Bountiful meetinghouse Sunday, Feb. 18 1917 at 1 o'clock.
