Edyth Hudson Castello

Age 85 of Hendersonville, TN went to be the Lord on February 7, 2016.

Edyth will be remembered as a happy, loving, perfect, strong, independent woman who always lived in a dignified manner. She enjoyed traveling a great deal, and especially loved destinations including the Land Between the Lakes in Kentucky, the beach, and her shop. Sailing aboard cruise ships to exotic ports of call was another one of her favorite ways to vacation. Edyth also enjoyed attending plays and concerts, sunning on the beach, dining out at various restaurants, and spending time with her beloved family.

She enjoyed spending the holidays and celebrating birthdays with her family. Edyth will be dearly missed by her family and all who knew her. She was, above all, a woman of deep and courageous faith.

In fact, she practiced her faith at Edgefield Baptist Church, where she was a member for 71 years. Edyth was also a devoted employee and retired from Bellsouth. She owned and operated Castello's Lullaby Cottage for 26 years, and touched many lives through her work there. Her caring nature is a legacy which will abide in the hearts of all.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Bessie Hudson; siblings, Harvey Hildreth, Marguerite Ordway, Preston Hildreth, Madeline Gerhke, Charles B. Hudson, Hazel Fuqua, and two nephews.

Edyth is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Bernice Castello; daughters, Sherry Castello, Gail (Randy) Burnett; grandchildren, Michael Burnett, Megan (Adam) Terry, Miranda Burnett; and nephew Lonnie Fuqua.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Edyth's honor to Edgefield Baptist Church, 700 Russell Street, Nashville, TN 37206.

The family received visitors on Tuesday, February 9, 2016 from 4:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m., and again on Wednesday, February 10, 2016 from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. A Celebration of Life was held following the visitation Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. All services took place at HENDERSONVILLE FUNERAL HOME, 353 E. Main Street, Hendersonville, TN 37075 hendersonvillefh.com 615-824-3855
