It also says he was born in Marienburg. Unruh (p. 353) says that he migrated in 1804 from Rosenkranz, Prussia to the Molotschna. I cannot locate him in the 1808 census, but in 1813 he is listed at Blumstein #3. In one place, he is called Ehrenfried Wall. The 1835 Molotschna Census entry for Blumstein #34 says he came to Russia in 1809 and moved away from Blumstein in 1816. The 1835 Molotschna Census lists him at Lichtenau #11, and says he moved to Lichtenau in 1816 from Blumstein. The 1809 record is probably correct since daughter Maria was born in Prussia.
