Elaine Ann McLellan

Elaine was adopted as a newborn; her birth parents gave her a name and it was changed by her adoptive parents. She was not told she was adopted until she was older.

Elaine divorced John, and married a much older man who died and left her with almost nothing. She went to live with a long time friend of the family to care for her (many years her senior) and due to Elaine's poor health precipitated by poor life choices, she suffered a massive heart attack at a young age and was found dead in her kitchen. She was 56. Her obituary notice didn't mention her daughters, but rather the one child of her second husband (who was very close to Elaine's age). Elaine had disowned her daughters a decade and half before her death; she had never met her only grandson.

Elaine's adoptive mother (Elsie Ann Goertz Hicks), was a beautiful and wonderful woman.
