Elbert Gage

Elbert married ca. 1834 Edna Perkins, daughter of Sarah and Lunsford Perkins. He moved to Texas with at least two of their children, John Lunsford Gage and Mary M. (nee Gage) Sanders. Elbert is on the 1856 Freestone Co., TX Tax Assessment. His death date is from his son-in-law, Henry G. Sanders' Falls Co., Texas biography. Elbert was reportedly a carpenter and farmer by trade. His widow, Edna didn't marry John Greer Bobbitt until after Elbert's death.

7. Alonzo Elbert "Lonzo" Gage, born Jan 1852 Kemper Co., MS and died between 1900 and 1910 probably in Rains Co., TX. He married 1st Mary Crenshaw in May 1870 in Houston Co., TX. This marriage ended in divorce.

Alonzo married 2nd Amanda "Mandy" Gilbert 27 Mar 1878 in Anderson Co., TX. Mandy's mother was Margaret A. (nee Harrell) Gilbert, sister of Rhoda (nee Harrell) Taylor, who married my paternal great-grandfather, William Newton Womack's 1st cousin James Osborne Cunningham.

9. Emma A. A. Gage, born 17 Dec 1855 Kemper Co., MS, died 9 Jan 1903 Houston Co., TX and is buried in Weches Cemetery in Houston Co., TX (FAG #49489877). She married 15 Apr 1875 Houston Co., TX Robert C. Crenshaw, son of Robert Crenshaw and Mary Elizabeth Henson.
