   Eleanor T. Forge, 95, died Saturday, July 28, 2012. She was born March 11, 1917, in Atlanta, Kan., the daughter of Charles and Stella (Chmidling) Heim. The family had recently moved to Atlanta from Winchester, Kan. A few years later they moved to their farm home in Leavenworth, Kan.
   Eleanor attended the Hund Grade School and graduated from Immaculata High School, class of 1933. She received an Associate Degree in Education from Saint Mary College, Leavenworth. She also received a lifetime teaching certificate from the State of Kansas. In 1935, she began teaching in one-room elementary schools in Leavenworth County and continued teaching for eight years. During World War II she worked at the Military Reception Center at Fort Leavenworth in the Records and Insurance Department.
   On Dec. 23, 1943, she married Herman J. Forge, Jr. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church, Leavenworth. After World War II ended, they lived in Salt Creek Valley where they farmed and raised their 10 children. Her husband died Aug. 22, 1979.
   Eleanor was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and touched the lives of many during her lifetime.
   She is survived by five daughters, Mary Ann Geris (Edward), Kathy Campbell (Everett), Janie Plance (Don), Elaine Jarvis (Michael), Shirley Vosseler; four sons, James Forge, Gary Forge (Katie), David Forge (Michele) and Dennis Forge (Sherry); grandchildren, Joe Geris (Tricia), Mark Geris (Sharon), Greg Campbell, Steven Campbell, Amy Crane (Bryan), Stacy Plance, Christopher Plance, Jeffrey Jarvis, Courtney Jarvis, Tommy Vosseler (Leigh), Emily Vosseler, Matt Forge (Lindsey), Mitch Forge, Jody Forge, Luke Forge, Rebecca Evans (Michael), Michaela Forge, Kerianne Forge, Chelsey Forge and Megan Forge; great-grandchildren, Lauren Rios, Ryan Geris, Daniel Geris, Will Geris, Riley Forge, Madison Forge, Lucy Evans and Oliver Evans. Eleanor is also survived by a sister-in-law, Sister Helen Forge; and a brother-in-law, Eugene Forge.
   She was preceded in death by a son, Herman J. Forge IV; two grandchildren, Michael Plance and Jessica Plance; and a son-in-law, Tom Vosseler; her brothers, Charles Heim, Cloyd Heim, Harold Heim, Father Hilary Heim, O.S.B., Herbert Heim and Bernard Heim; and sisters, Agnes (Heim) Heintzelman and Betty Heim all preceded her in death.
   Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, Aug. 3, 2012, at the R.L. Leintz Funeral Home. The Rosary will be prayed at 6 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, 2012, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. David McEvoy, O.Carm., as celebrant. Burial will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Immaculate Conception – St. Joseph Parish, or the charity of the donor’s choic
