About Eleanor Hawes

No proof that she was a daughter of Thomas Lombard. She is probably a daughter of Bernard Lombard, I and his wife Elinor Hutchins Lombard. Please disconnect from Thomas Lombard, her uncle. 7-15-2016.

Eliony was said to have been a very handsome woman.

Perhaps she came to New England from England as an indentured servant, and Edward bought her indenture and then married her. (Very romantic!)

Yarmouth records say that the wife of Edmond Hawes died on July 19, 1689 but do not give her name. One historian says it was Lucy but gives no authority (Winsor, 'History of Duxbury,' p. 266). It is not known if this was his first wife, nor whether he was married in England or America, nor if there were any other children besides his son John." (Bonnie Hubbard)

according to another researcher located at http://www.milkcanpapers.com/sitename3.html In the official town records of the town of Dedham, Massachusetts, is this simple entry:

     "Edward Haws )
                    ) Married February 15, 1648"
     "Eliony Lumber )

and In many genealogies Eliony, widow of Edward, is said to have died two years after him. She did not. The town records of Wrentham, Massachusetts, say as follows: "Eliony Hawes of Dedham married to James Heaton of Wrentham, July 21, 1713." Foxy grandma! She had married Edward sixty-five years earlier and most folks thought she was dead.(6) please check facts

Not the wife of Edmund Hawes, Jr.
