COMMENTS: Estelle Havis, Odessa, TX: "John Morris could have been single when he came to America because I haven't found anything on him before he married the widow Empson. John Morris and his wife, Mrs Eleanor___Empson, widow of William Empson, were in Charles Co., MD. I have no marriage date for them, but they are listed in Charles Co. Court Proceedings, 1658-1662. Eleanor was listed as 20 years of age or thereabouts; John was listed as 30 years or thereabouts in age. Eleanor was in court because she had "put out" her baby to be "nursed" for two years. She was listed as the widow of William Empson, but was now married to John Morris..
