Ellender, also known as Eleanor, was one of 13 children of James Baker and Miss Blount [sic: Anna] and listed in DAR records. Also seen as daughter of Andrew Baker.

She married Jesse Ray on 8 Jan 1782 in Wilkes County.

Eleanor married Jessie Ray, bond dated 8 Jan 1782, Wilkes Co. Bondsman: Justius Bolling [husband of Eleanor's sister Martha].

Jesse's parents were William Ray and Elizabeth ?

He and Eleanor had 10 children, including:

Jesse served in several campaigns during the Revolutionary War which is well documented in historical records.
