Translation Szövetkezeteinkhez! The great political and economic change commanded by the great interest of saving the country could not leave our center untouched either. The necessary consequence of this was that there was a change in the management of our center, which is officially announced by the following decree of the People's Finance Commissioner of the Council Government: 1208 / PM. s. We hereby authorize Jr. Comrade Zoltán Bosnyák, Elemér Varjas, leading the affairs of the National Central Credit Cooperative, and we authorize him to use his army if necessary. Budapest, March 23, 1919 Jenő Varga s. k. People's Commissioner for Finance, Béla Székely s. k. Deputy Financial Commissioner for Finance. In this way, both our headquarters and the cooperatives belonging to our affiliation, as well as the companies of our headquarters, are under the supervision and control of the Revolutionary Council Government from today.

WIKI A descendant of a craft family, the child of Ignác Varjas (Weisz) and Fried Karolin. He completed his higher education at the College of Economics, where he graduated in 1916. His brother, Sándor Varjas, came into contact with the labor movement through mediation. During the Soviet Republic, he worked for the National Central Credit Cooperative as a commissioner of the People's Commissar, and then hid in Budapest for a few days after the fall of the system. He was arrested on August 7, 1919, and his case was heard on February 22, 1921. He was sentenced to ten months in prison, which he served in the Prison. He was transferred to the Soviet Union as part of an exchange of prisoners in 1922, where he soon mastered the Russian language and was employed by the Cooperative Center. Here he first worked in the international department, soon after he was transferred to the international department of export-import, and he also worked in the cooperative section of the Communist International under the name G. Oszvald. It has built up an extensive network of international contacts, made up of cooperative professionals from England, Norway, Sweden, France, Austria, Germany, Czechoslovakia and Bulgaria. He spoke Russian, German, English and French, so he easily organized many international co-operative congresses. He has published several books and articles on the history of the cooperative movement and its international implications. His friends included Jenő Varga, Jenő Hamburger, György Lukács and Ernő Czóbel. He was arrested in 1937 on fabricated charges and fell victim to it.
