About Eli Zolitor
Eli Zolitor, 86, formerly of Chicago, World War II veteran of the Pacific Theater, died of cancer April 4 in Sunrise, FL. Born in Brotmansville, NJ and raised in Philadelphia, Mr. Zolitor joined the Navy in 1943 and served aboard the aircraft carrier USS Boxer from the day it was commissioned, until 1945.
After the war he and his wife and young son moved to Chicago, IL where they opened a beauty shop, Eli's Hair Fashions, in Jeffery Manor. Married in 1944, he is survived by his wife of 63 years,Gertrude Zolitor, his sons Bruce andJeffrey, and daughter Andrea, three sisters, four grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
Mr. Zolitor was a 32nd-degree Mason.
