- 1 Samuel 17:12-14 - Mention of Jesse having eight sons. Only four, David and the three eldest, are named.
- 1 Chronicles 2:13. - Only seven sons are listed.
- 1 Chronicles 27:18 - Named as brother of King David.
Eighth son of Jesse and brother of King David. The commentaries of these verses, infer that he is NOT listed in 1 Chronicles 2, because he died without having children. 1 Samuel 17 lists David as "smallest", because in his humbleness "he made himself small".
