Obituary- VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - Elijah W. Midkiff, 79, of the 300 block of Whiting Lane, died April 13, 2004.

A native of Branchland, W.Va., Mr. Midkiff was the son of the late Elijah Fenton and Adda Mae Midkiff. He was retired from Midwest Corporation and a member of Sandbridge Community Chapel United Methodist Church. He was a member of Kanawha Masonic Lodge No. 20 AF & AM and the Disabled American Veterans.

He is survived by his wife, Wanda F. Midkiff; and six daughters: Sally A. Kish and husband, Jerry, Jennifer L. Farmer and husband, Jim, Nancy L. Wilson and husband, Jim, Sharon L. Aultz and husband, Charles, Rebecca W. Petrokubi and husband, Tom, and Ann L. Padgett and husband, Tom.

He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, Stevie and Scott Kish, Christine Aultz, Sean W. Tolliver, Sarah Bentley, Chalon Heath, Lindsay and Kristen Wilson, Hilary and Anne Petrokubi and Kelly and Grayson Padgett; two great grandchildren, Amanda Kish and Brendan Bentley; a brother Bernard; and three sisters, Eleanor Pullen, Brenda LaFon and Marsha Hicks.

He was predeceased by a brother, Ralph Midkiff.

A funeral service will be conducted Friday at 11 a.m. in Sandbridge Community Chapel United Methodist Church officiated by James Galloway. Burial will follow in Colonial Grove Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home Kempsville Chapel Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m.
