Elizabeth Sheldon, dau. of Dea. Isaac Sheldon and Elizabeth Pratt, b. of record Nov. 17 (bp. Nov. 18, 2nd Ch.), 1718 at Hartford, Conn. She d. May 20, 1749 at New Hartford, Conn., Æ 30.

On Feb. 26, 1739/40 at Hartford, Elizabeth m. as his 1st wife, Rev. Jonathan Marsh, 3rd of New Hartford, Conn., s. of Rev. Jonathan Marsh, Jr. and Margaret Whiting, b. Jan. 1, 1713/14 at Windsor, Conn. They had six children who are outlined in their father's memorial. Inscription: Here lies Interr'd the Body of Mrs. Elifabeth Marfh wife of the Rev'd Mr. Jonathan Marfh who died May ye 20th 1749 Ætatis Suæ 30

On the day Elizabeth died she was 29 years old, and Ætatis suæ (i.e., Æ, "Aged," in the XX year of her Age) 30.

On Feb. 26, 1739/40 at Hartford, Conn. Jonathan m. 1) Elizabeth Sheldon, dau. of Dea. Isaac Sheldon and Elizabeth Pratt, b. Nov. 17 (bp. Jan. 18, 2d Ch.), 1718 at Hartford, Conn. She d. May 20, 1749 at New Hartford, Æ 30 (g.s.) They had the following six children as recorded in Rev. Marsh's personal diary and in the New Hartford church records:

• i. Anna Marsh, b. and bapt. Feb. 22, 1740/1 at Hartford, Conn., d. Nov. 14, 1813 at Hartford; m. Sept. 28, 1759 at New Hartford, Ens. Zebulon Seymour, Jr., s. of Zebulon Seymouth and Keziah Pratt, b. Sept. 12, 1736 at Hartford, Conn. He d. July 27, 1807 at Hartford. Nine children of the marriage, only two of whom reached maturity and married.

• ii. Joseph Whiting Marsh, b. Feb. 6 (bp. Feb. 13), 1742/3 at New Hartford, d. unm. in either Mar. or Apr. 1764 at Granada, in the West Indies. He was a 1763 graduate of Yale, but died unmarried a soldier during the expedition to Havana in the French & Indian War.

• iii. Jerusha Marsh, b. Aug. 20, 1744 at Hartford where she was baptized; m. Sept. 21, 1765 at New Hartford, Joseph King of Middletown, Conn., s. of Henry King and Mary Hamlin, b. July 9, 1743 at Middletown. Family not traced further.

• iv. Daniel Marsh, b. Feb. 4 (bp. Feb. 9), 1745/6 at New Hartford, whose date of death cannot be found; m. by 1772, Jerusha Treat, dau. of Samuel Treat and Jerusha Wolcott of Wethersfield, Conn., b. there of record Dec. 17, 1753. She d. before Apr. 24, 1794 when following the death of her widowed mother the widow's dower was distributed to the heirs of her father, in which on the latter date Jerusha (Treat) Marsh is included as "to the heirs of Jerusah late ife of Daniel Marsh." Nine children of the family, the eldest seven b. and bapt. at New Hartford.

• v. Gen. Isaac Marsh, b. Oct. 18 (bp. Oct. 25), 1747 at New Hartford, d. in 1792, apparently intestate, at Tyringham, Mass.; m. Lucy Smith, dau. of Dea. Martin Smith, bp. Jan. 4, 1756 at New Hartford. Ten children of the marriage. She m. 2) in 1796, her brother-in-law, John Lawrence Marsh, the younger half-brother of Gen. Isaac, but when he died is not known. The Marsh Gen. claims Lucy (Smith)(Marsh) Marsh died in 1840, but where cannot be found.

• vi. Elizabeth Marsh, b. May 10, 1749 at New Hartford where she d. Aug. 11, 1788; m. Aug. 10, 1780 at New Hartford, Jerijah Merrill, s. of Zebulon and Susanna (Merrill) Merrill of New Hartford, b. July 25, 1749 at Hartford. He d. June 13, 1791 at New Hartford, One child of record, s. Zebulon.
