Henry Snively by virtue of a land office Treasury warrant #435 and dated 23 May 1791 enters as assignee 300 acres of land known by the name of clay Lick bottom adjoing lands surveyed for the widow [Danil's widow] ashcraft heirs on sleepy creek in the fork of the said creek beginning at the northwest corner of saind land thence running tonicholas tripp's corner thence the courses of said survey thence accourding to the courses of G. broadwater's book aid to contain 300 acres entered 1 Jun 1791.

accrodingt of mr. geertsmna's survey's undertaken for present day purposes the land pateneted to phelix and Ephraim Ashcraft was surveyed by guy broadwater in 1749-50 for Daniel Ashcraft, one of the first on the frontier.
In 1765, Lord fairfaxe called all of the old warrants in. He proclaimed that if the warranted land was not pateneted the warranties would loos all rights to the land. Ephraim and phelix patented the land as the heirs of the widow Ashcraft. mnay frontiersmen had not patteneted their land nor paidn the required fees because of the distance and danger unvolved in travel to the county seat.
