She was the daughter of Francis T. and Catherine (Smith) Hathaway. CHILDREN: Martha (Williamson) born about 1838, Emery Madison 1841–1918, Drusilla 1843 1909 and Sally, born about 1844 - BALL. Both parents died of typhoid and the children were raised by John and Rachel (Barr) Ball."
