William Becher will dated 1 Nov 1640 proved 2 April 1641 By Elizabeth Becher, executrix named, PCC Mentioned in the 1640 will of her father. To his three youngest daughters Elizabeth, Judith & Catherine 300li apiece, to be paid them as soon as his brother Edward Becher’s land, now settled upon testator, shall be sold or that they should marry. Recites that whereas his brother Edward had settled on him and his heirs his whole estate of land in England, and his annuity of 24 pounds out of the land of Sir John Rayneyin Writham, which he values at 2000 pounds or thereabouts and conceives that the same be sold, and the money arising therefrom to be divided amongst his three youngest sons and three youngest daughters, he does willingly condescend thereunto, and is thankful for it, and wills that the same be sold, after his said brother’s death, by Sir Rowland St John of Woodford, Northants, Knight, Sir Beauchamp St John of Bletsoe, Beds, [Godfather of Howard], Thomas Rolt of Milton-Ernys, Beds, Esq, Thomas Anscell, fellow of Jesus College Cambridge, his nephews, and Matthew Robinson of Longthorpe the younger of Longthorpe, and the proceeeds divided as above.

Edward Beecher, Gent of Fotheringhay 15 October 1658 Prob 11/283 Will written 18 March 1655. ...all the land tenement mills rente messuages pastures meadowes annuities and hereditaments which I have in the county of Kent or realm of England unto my ? for ? remaynder after my death to my nephews Francis Becher, Howard Becher and John Becher and my neeces Elizabeth Becher, Judith Becher and Katherine Becher and their heires being the children of my late brother Sir William Becher deceased at by the said indenture more at large appeareth; (the said Elizabeth Becher being lately deceased) give, devise and bequeath unto my said nephews Francis, Howard and John Becher and unto my said Judith Becher and Katherine Becher and their heires, All my land, tenements and annuities, mills, rents, and hereditaments whatsoever, with their and every of their appurtenances which I have within the said county of Kent and Realme of England To have and to hold to to their heires for ever;
