About Elizabeth Bird
Caution: This person is not proven. She may have been a second wife because of the age difference. She is listed with a second marriage to Mr. William Brown.
Which Bird married into the Vardeman family? I originally thought that it was Samuel Bird, b. 1744. But, the time frame doesn't fit. William Vardeman's family was in Goochland from 1740 to 1751. Peter Vardeman left Henry Co. by 1779. So, the Vardeman/Bird connection must be pushed back another generation, to James Bird b. abt. 1720.
Evidence suggests that Samuel Bird of Franklin Co. was married to a daughter of James Meredith. (James Meredith was b. abt. 1710--making a daughter likely b. in the 1740-1765 time frame--too early for the next generation of Birds.)
