Elizabeth Catherine Forster Ramsden

NOTE... Based on an analysis of documentary evidence such as witnesses and godparents detailed below, I have connected Elizabeth Catherine to parents James Hutchons and Catharina Elizabeth HOMAN.... I will continue searching for her baptism record (or a DN) as proof.

"Proof" of this connection now from DNA matches to at least 4 other Christiaan Jacobus Homan & Martha Maria Claasen descendents.

I believe that Elizabeth Catherine Hutchons' parents were Catharina Elizabeth Homan and James Hutchons. Catharina Elizabeth Dorothea Hutchons AND James Hutchons

She would likely have been born in Cradock or surrounding areas Confirmation in the form of baptism records and a marriage record for the couple have not yet been found.

Elizabeth married Charles Foster and had 6 children including

• Catherine Elizabeth Forster who was baptised in Smithfield in 1859, and whose godparents were Henry and Elizabeth Montgomery (Homan) - Elizabeth Homan was Catherina Homan Hutchons' youngest sister, born about a year before Elizabeth Catherine Hutchons Forster, so most likely almost an older sister than an aunt.
• Annie Forster was baptised in Smithfield in 1861 and her godparents were Marya Homan and Richard Wheeler - Marya/Maria was another one of Catherina Homan Hutchons' sisters who married Richard Wheeler.

Godparents of her other children included Catherine, Martha & James Hutchons; George Hutchons and Maria Hutchens --- James and George are likely to be her brothers, Martha and Maria her sisters, and Catharine could be her mother.
There is definitely a link between the Hutchons and Homan families, and family naming patterns also support this theory.
