6 March 1570: Instrument of Resignation by William Scot burgess of Irvine (See GD25/1/701) in the hands of Gilbert Earl of Cassillis of the 6 merk land of Ranko Castlehill and Hilton, and 6 merk land of Craigencroy and Ardathie lying in the barony of Dunure and Earldom of Carrick, for new Infeftment thereof to be granted by his Lordship to the said William Scot and Elizabeth Cunningham his affidate wife, daugther of Hugh Cunningham of Waterston in conjunct fee and liferent, and the heirs to be procreate between them whom failling the said William Scot his nearest heirs whatsoever National Records of Scotland, Papers of the Kennedy Family, Earls of Cassillis, reference GD25/1/758
