Just because her last name was (maybe) "Demark" does not mean that she came from Denmark nor that she had any right whatsoever to the Denmark Royal arms.
Surname is not supported by any contemporary primary documentation. There is a possibility that it results from a mash-merge of two William Wises on opposite sides of the Chesapeake Bay (one in Accomack County on the Eastern Shore, and one in Surry County, later Brunswick County, on the western side).
Possibly of German ancestry, as one son was known as "John Christian" Wise and another as "Otto William" (or just Otto). Perhaps a Harmanson connection?
