• Residence: from Pennsylvania to Orange, North Carolina, United States - about 1753 to 1755

GEDCOM Note

From "Find a Grave" Jane Field Birth: unknown, Pennsylvania Death: unknown, Guilford County, North Carolina Jane's maiden name may have been Benton, but this is problematic. Several of her descendants had Benton as a first or middle name. She married William Field (1698-1748) sometime in the 1720s, and they were living in Chester Co., Pa., the section that became Lancaster Co. in 1729, and York Co. in 1749. It is now Adams Co. William died in 1748, and is buried at Christ Church, Huntington. His tombstone still stands. Sometime around 1753/5, Jane and her seven children moved from Pa. to Orange County, NC, where Jane applied for land patents in November 1755. The area became Rowan Co. in the 1750s, and Guilford Co. in 1771. The last record found of Jane is in the estate settlement of Col. John McGee who died in December, 1773. I do not know when she died or where she is buried. Family links: Spouse: William Field (1698 - 1748) Children: John Field (1725 - 1788), William Field (1726 - 1805), Robert Field (1728 - 1820), Jeremiah Field (1730 - 1821), Joseph Field (1731 - 1780), Mary Field (1733 - ____), Ann Field Hamilton (1735 - ____) Burial: Unknown, Specifically: burial place unknown Created by: John Field Pankow - Record added: Dec 28, 2008 - Find A Grave Memorial# 32450340
