About Elizabeth Key Fisher

Elizabeth Key Watts, dau. of Rev. Benjamin Watts and Elizabeth Tandy Key (both from Virginia), was b. in Jackson County, Georgia on Jan. 12,1804; she m. on Sept. 23,1825, in St Clair Co., Illinois, with REV. ORCENETH FISHER, son of Dr. David Fisher and Britannia Chase. Orceneth was b. in Chester, Windsor Co.,Vermont on Nov. 5,1803. Before 1821 he moved to Indiana Territory, where he joined the Methodist Church; for which he became a pinoneer minister. He was assigned to various Illinois circuits. For health reasons, he visited Texas in 1839; they moved there in 1841. She d. in Houston, Texas of yellow fever on Nov. 19,1847 (ch. dau. Susan died about same time, son James d. shortly after from same cause.) Burial locations unknown. Children, all but Anna (born in Texas), born in Illinois.

Children were: Mary Sophronia (7/6/1827), Electa Chase (4/9/1829; m. Harvey H. Allen; m. Hancock), Orceneth Asbury (7/4/1831), James Armstrong (4/29/1833), Sarah Elizabeth (2/16/1836), Sterling (4/1/1838), Susan Adeline (7/2/1840), and Anna Augusta/or Elizabeth (3/17/1842).
