Biography

Elizabeth Lane was born in Boston, Massachusetts, on February 3, 1661, the daughter of William and Mary Lane.[1]

She married Henry Gardner of Woburn, Massachusetts, probably about 1694, based on the birthdate of their first child. Children, born in Woburn:

John Gardner, born July 22, 1695; minister of Stow, Massachusetts; died January 10, 1775.[2]
Henry Gardner, Jr, born August 2, 1698.[3]
Samuel Gardner, born September 10, 1700; died unmarried, March 3, 1723.[4][5]
Elizabeth Gardner, born December 25, 1702; married, __ Sawyer.[6]
Elizabeth (Lane) Gardner died in Woburn on June 3, 1703, "Aged 43 Years" (gravestone). She is buried in the First Burial Ground in Woburn, where her now somewhat damaged gravestone reads:
