Elizabeth was born May 19, 1819 in Lochiel Twp., Glengarry County, Ontario.
She was baptized in St. Raphael's Roman Catholic Church in Glengarry. Elizabeth was the only child to be baptized in the Catholic Church. She moved with her parents to North Sherbrooke shortly after the birth of her sister Catherine in 1826. Elizabeth married John Hannah April 14, 1845 in a service performed by Rev. William Bell of the First Presbyterian Church, Perth, Ontario. It's not known exactly where they were married as Rev. Bell traveled the area around Perth to perform services. The likely location was probably McDonald's Corners or Elphin. John and Elizabeth had 11 children, some of whom ended up in Lambton County, Ontario; Louise District of Manitoba; and Alberta. John and Elizabeth lived their lives in Palmerston Township, Frontenac County. Elizabeth died March 28, 1886 in Palmerston Twp., and John died March 10, 1890. They are buried together in Crawford Cemetery in Dalhousie Township between McDonald's Corners and Elphin.
