Descendants of Elizabeth Mills, daughter of Eleanor Morris and Major William Mills.

Elizabeth Mills married George W. Jones of North Carolina. Their children were William F., E. Caroline, Louisa Eleanor, George Washington, Erwin Patterson, Dr. Edmund Randolph, Thomas L., John Mills, and Mary Harriet Jones.

William F. Jones, son of Elizabeth Mills, was born in Lenoir, North Carolina, and was Captain of Company A, First Regiment, C. S. A. He married Sarah L. Jones, his first cousin. Their children were: Mattie, Annie, and Gertrude Jones. Mattie married Willoughby Avery, colonel of a North Carolina regiment, C. S. A. Annie married James Gaither Hall. Gertrude married Mr. Clinard.

The second child of Elizabeth and George W. Jones was E. Caroline Jones, who married Dr. Robert Maxwell Young. Their children were George William Young, M. D., Colonel Robert R., and Louisa Young. Dr. George William Young surgeon of a Virginia regiment, C. S. A., married Virginia Lanier. He died from fatigue and exposure, while attending the wounded, in February, 1862. He had no assistance. Their children were Lafayette Lamar Young of Texas; George Robert Young of Arkansas; and Sarah Caroline Young of Georgia. Sarah Caroline Young married Roland Lyn of Georgia. Their child was Roland Lyn, Jr., who married Esther Lyn of Florida.

Colonel Robert R. Young, son of E. Caroline and Dr. Robert Maxwell Young, and Colonel of a regiment, C. S. A., married Josephine Hill. He was killed in battle. Their child, Ida, married J. Wortham of Texas. Ida Wortham's children were Butler Mills, Josephine, Robert C., Mattie, Effie, Mary, Pierce, and Ida Wortham. Louisa Jones Young, daughter of E. Caroline and Robert Young, married Thomas F. Jones of Cartersville, Georgia, son of Thomas Jones, the brother of George Jones, who married Elizabeth Mills. Their children were E. Caroline, Emily C., Thomas F. Jr., Mary, and Louisa Young Jones.

The third child of Elizabeth Mills and George W. Jones was Louisa Eleanor, who died at the age of twenty, unmarried.

The fourth child of Elizabeth Mills and George W. Jones was George W. Jones, Jr., who died unmarried.

The fifth child of Elizabeth Mills and George W. Jones was Erwin Patterson Jones, who was born in Greenville, South Carolina, and married Georgiana Earle. Their children were Florence G. and Thomas Erwin Jones. Florence died young. Thomas married Eliza Mills.

The sixth child of Elizabeth Mills and George W. Jones, was Dr. Edmund Randolph Jones, who died young.

The seventh child of Elizabeth Mills and George W. Jones was Thomas Laurens Jones of Kentucky, Colonel of a North Carolina regiment, C. S. A. He was a member of Congress from Kentucky. He graduated at Cambridge and married Mary K. Taylor of Cincinnatti, Ohio, daughter of General James Taylor, Newport, Kentucky. Their children were James Taylor, Elizabeth Mills, and Thomas

were Thomas Laurens, Mary and Keturah Jones. Elizabeth Mills Jones married Colonel Brent Arnold of Mt. Auburn, Ohio. Their child was Brent, Jr. Thomas Jones died young.

The eighth child of Elizabeth Mills and George W. Jones was John Mills Jones of Greenville, South Carolina, who married Eliza Thompson, daughter of Hon. Waddy T. Thompson, United States Minister to South America. Their children were Emmala B. and Elizabeth Mills Jones.

The ninth child of Elizabeth Mills and George W. Jones was Mary Harriet Jones of North Carolina, who married Colonel William Butler Thompson, son of Hon. Waddy Thompson of South Carolina. They lived in Georgia many years and then moved to White Oak, Polk County, North Carolina. Their children were Dr. Waddy; Elizabeth Jones; Jones Thompson, who died young; and Miss Thompson.

Dr. Waddy Thompson married Loula Butler. Their child was Loula Thompson. Miss Thompson married Sam Townes of Columbia, South Carolina. Their children were Mary, Allen, and Lois Townes.
