  • - Ordered that the Interrogatories put to ELIZABETH LAWSON of this County, Single Woman, touching a suspition she is charged with of having a bastard Child late come of her body & concealing and burying the same, be of record, as also what answers the sd ELIZABETH made thereto

  • A. All in the house, my Father & Unkle - my Father walked about the outward room all night and in the morning went to fetch BETTY JACKSON

  • A. It was borne about two houres before day & buryed whilst my Father went to call BETTY JACKSON

STONE a Jury of able Matrons were impannelled & sworne to serch the body as the sd ELIZ. and enquire into the fact who returned their verdict to this Court and the sd ELIZABETH being also brought before this Court, and upon her Examinacon confessing the same, The Court thought fitt and do accordingly order that the High Sheriff of this County or his Deputy do take into safe Custody the body of the sd ELIZ: LAWSON & her to deteyne without Baile or main:prize and safely convay her to JAMES CITTY to answer the sd fact before the Honrble. President & Councell the 4th day of the next Genll. Court
