https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/203960103/elizabeth_may_london
She and Jack were married April 7, 1900.
In 1900 she lived with her husband, his mother, and his seven-year-old nephew, John London, in a house they were renting at 1130 15th Street in Oakland, California. (House numbers have changed since then--this was near 23rd Avenue.) Jack worked as a writer. They separated in 1903 and their divorce was finalized November 11, 1904.
In 1910 she and her two daughters and a boarder, 33-year-old Ella Monsey, lived in a house they owned, mortgage free, at 519 31st Street in Oakland. Ella worked as a dressmaker for private families. Bessie was shown as a widow with her own income.
In 1940 she lived with her son-in-law Percy Fleming and her daughter Bess and her two children in a house they owned at 206 Scenic Avenue in Piedmont, California. Their home was valued at $6000. Percy had his own business, a gift store, and his wife worked there as a saleslady.
