ELIZABETH MARKLE (MN...?)

(PROFILE MANAGER COMMENT 2/26/17): At present, I am less than confident about Elizabeth's lineage/ancestry. There are some "curious" record affiliations at FamilySearch, and the fact that the only supporting link between her and the COOK Family is an unsubstantiated "Memory" reference with no firm reference details. I plan to investigate the known citation records, search for historical record evidence, and then return to the matter of her FAMILY OF ORIGIN identification / ancestry. I realize this is a well attested to identification, but at present I have yet to find a historical link between her and the COOK FAMILY. Jlphawn

Another question I have been attempting to gain some insight on (with no success) pertains to the multiple instances of a cited "first" marriage to JOHN COMPIEGN which according to those citations produced a son: LUKE COMPIEGN COOK.... (as of yet no historical record substantiation)

Perhaps nitt-picky on my part, however, I have something of a problem accepting this name. First of all, the boys father's surname was supposed to be COMPIEGN......Elizabeth's MAIDEN NAME was supposed to be COOK. So then why would their son's naming pattern be inverted? Just applying the 'logic' of the situation...why would it have been found either preferable or appropriate for a male child of a known named father.......to instead identify by his mother's maiden surname? That would likely have been an issue!

06/2/17 While I yet have no findings re: Elizabeth and a Cook lineage, there are a few supporting FamilySearch profile records for LUKE COMPIEGN COOK. I do not feel it warranted to create a profile here for him because I see nothing in the FS supporting records to a suggest a connection to Elizabeth Markle (or for that matter...Cook) but I am including them here - perhaps someone with some clarity will see something I miss.
