"Concerning Richard Moore's wife, Elizabeth Benton (possible): my great Grandfather, who is a direct descendent of this couple, was named "Benjamin Benton Bruton". Since there was no Benton connection to the Bruton family, and there possibly was to Benjamin's mother Lavina Scott (Scott/Jones/Moore, VA to Bertie Co NC to TN, including Richard Moore), my current theory is that Elizabeth Benton is the correct wife for Richard Moore who moved to Bertie Co NC.”
