Biography

https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Harrison-175

Elizabeth Harrison, the daughter of Richard Harrison, was born before 21 May 1626 in West Kirtby, Cheshire England, baptism 21 MAY 1626 West Kirby, Cheshire, England.

She was married three times. Her first husband was Henry Lines. After he died, she married Thomas Lampson on November 6, 1663. After his death she married John Morris of Newark, New Jersey, on March 29, 1666. She died between October 22, 1689 and February 24, 1692/3.[1]

The original entry for Elizabeth indicated that she died on August 12, 1669. This is in conflict with Jacobus, so her date of death has been changed to after October 22, 1689.

Marriages

  • Henry LINES , died in 14 jan 1662, son of John Lynes of Bobby, Co. Northampton England
  • Thomas LAMPSON 6 nov 1663 of New Haven Conn.
  • John MORRIS 29 Mar 1666 of New Haven Conn.

Family

First marriage

Henry Lines was the son of John Lines of Badby, Co. Northampton, England. Henry married Elizabeth Harrison about 1655 at New Haven, Connecticut Colony, and he had 4 children baptized at New Haven:

  1. John(2) b. Aug. 7, 1656, d. Dec. 14, 1656.
  2. 1658, Oct. 24, Johanna, [1658, Oct. 20];
  3. 1659-60, March 4, Samuel, [1659, Jan. 16];
  4. 1661, Nov. 9, Hopestill, [1661, Nov. 6]

before his death on January 13/14, 1662/63.[1] Ralph Lines was probably a brother or cousin of Henry.[2] His inventory was recorded in New Haven on 30 May 1663,[3] however, no mention was made of his wife or how the estate was distributed until when Elizabeth's second husband died, then an inventory of what went to her from his estate is listed.[4] See image, right-hand side on the bottom, for the inventory list. It is mentioned that he had more property in Barbados.

Second marriage

Thomas Lampson was born after 1610 in England, parents unknown. Thomas Lampson was married three times. With his first wife, name unknown, he had two children, Azuba (married Joshua Wells, died before 1687) and Jonathan (baptized March 2, 1645.). In February 1650 Thomas married the widow of Paul Williamson of Ipswich, Massachusetts. Thomas Lampson’s third wife was Elizabeth Harrison, the daughter of Richard Harrison and the widow of Henry Lines. They were married on 6 November 1663.[4][5] They had one child,

  1. Eleazer, born August 14, 1664,

who was born after his death. Eleazer is not mentioned in his will, and it also does not mention that his wife is with child. Thomas Lampson died on December 28, 1663, in New Haven.

His will (which was not written) was presented to the Probate court on 1 March 1663/34.[7] He first gives ten pounds to the church. His wife gets half of his estate and what she brought into the marriage. His son's part is to be paid in April of 1665 (perhaps this is when he turns 21 years of age). His daughter's share was to be "put into the hands of Mr. Fields" to be improved upon. It was witnessed by William Pecke and Nicholas Auger. His inventory was taken on the "29th of ye 11th month 1663" or 11 February 1663/64.

Elizabeth later married John Morris.[6]

Third marriage

John Morris was born 27 Dec 1624 in Alphage, Greenwich, Kent, England. Father John Morris [1]. He was married twice, first to Ann --- who died December 4, 1664. He married 29 Mar 1666 at New Haven Conn. Elizabeth Harrison, the daughter of Richard Harrison and widow of Henry Lines and Thomas Lampson. He and Elizabeth had two sons,

  1. John, Husband of Sarah (Crane)
  2. Philip.[2] Husband of Johanna

John Morris, who died 1675 in Newark, New Jersey, may have been the nephew of Thomas Morris.
