Elizabeth "Libbie" Hamblin Murdock's headstone at the Minersville Cemetery reads as follows: "In The Memory of Libbie, Wife of John M. Murdock, and Daughter of Oscar and Mary Ann Hamblin. Born in Tooele City, Utah, August 30, 1856, Died in Minersville, Beaver county, Utah, January 14, 1879." Buried with her is her baby son Orrice Oscar, born January 13, 1879, Died April 10, 1879. Sadly, she died the day after her son was born, and then he died three months later.
Libbie's husband, John Murdock then married Susan Jane Smith who was born October 25, 1866, in Beaver, Utah. They had six children, Warren Franklin, 1887; Julia Melvina, 1889; Parry Webster, 1891; John Porter, 1895; Clark Grant, 1903; and Wallace Smith Murdock, 1906. John Murdock passed away in 1927 and his wife Susan in 1939, and they were both buried in the Mountain View Cemetery in Beaver, Utah.
