About Elizabeth Porter
Elizabeth Baldwin, daughter of John of Milford and first wife Mary Camp
Elizabeth Baldwin baptized: 19 Aug 1649 Milford, CT. Married Nathaniel Porter. Died Feb. 6, 1682 in Stratford, Fairfield County, Connecticut, USA.
Nathaniel was born Jul. 19, 1640 in Windsor, Hartford County, Connecticut, USA and died Jan. 14, 1680 in Stratford, Fairfield County, Connecticut, USA. He was the son of John Porter (1594 - 1648) and Anna White (1600 - 1647).
While there is still some confusion on Internet sites about the last name of Nathaniel Porter's second wife, Donald Lines Jacobus wrote "The only dau. of John and Mary (CAMP) BALDWIN, Elizabeth, m. Nathaniel PORTER of Stratford, who in his will in 1680, made four friends overseers of his estate, one of whom he called 'cousin Nicholas CAMP'..." He explained that that's what a male relative-in-law (Nicholas Camp was Elizabeth's uncle) was called.
Children with Nathaniel Porter:
- John, 28 March 1674. Married Hannah Peck.
- Samuel, 17 July 1675. Married Mary ____.
- Mary, 28 Feb 1677.
