Biography

ELIZABETH WILLETT was born 25 AUG 1736 in Prince George's, Maryland, USA, and died BEF 1772. She married JEREMIAH RILEY on 1752. She was the daughter of EDWARD WILLETT and MARY HARBIN.

Elizabeth Willett married Jeremiah Riley (1730–1804). He survived her and married again.

Elizabeth (Willett) Riley died in Maryland within a year of her son William's birth in 1770 and before March 8, 1772, when her father's will was written; it names her children among his heirs but as she is not named, which means she had pre-deceased him. It is possible she died of childbirth complications as that was the leading cause of death for young (33 years old in 1770) women in that time. Year died is given as 1771. Husband was Jeremiah Riley and family moved south to Surrey, North Carolina, after 1780.
