William Rutherford was born in 1727 in Essex County Virginia, and was the son of John Rutherford and Violetta Reynolds. He was possibly the spouse of Mary Merryman or Isabella Beard - trees vary on this, but many have him married to Ursula Parrish, which is incorrect, per Jstor link in bio.
