About Elizabeth Sametz
Elizabeth Muller Sametz was born March 8, 1895 in Holleschau, Moravia to Hermann Muller and Maria Kerschner. She married Rudolph Sametz and died June 19, 1942, after having been bitten by a flea and contracting typhoid fever in Shanghai, China and was originally buried in a Jewish cemetery in that city. The grave was later moved to the city's international cemetery but then destroyed during the Chinese cultural revolution. The gravestone was also lost but later recovered by photo-journalist Dvir Bar-gal and is now part of a memorial made up of other dispersed gravestones that have also been found. http://www.shanghaijewishmemorial.com/39.htm https://yvng.yadvashem.org/nameDetails.html?language=en&itemId=6481... From a family of three girls and one boy. The family, with the exception of Elizabeth and one sister who escaped to France, were lost during the Holocaust.
