"So now you see three of the children of Reuben Saunders married into the same Perry family. It is likely this happened more because of the difficulties attendant upon travelling abroad and finding new people than because the two families were so much enamored with each other; for it is reported that a member of one of them said in connection with these marriages, "Three slices off a musty loaf are quite enough". It is not retained in memory which thought the other 'musty'. If they were like their descendants -- and in fact like the descendants of all people-- each might have thought it of the other."
