About Elizabeth Ellen Short
Mrs. Elizabeth Short, 78, of 1727 Park Dr. died at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Holston Valley Community Hospital after a lingering illness. A native to Buladean, N.C., she had lived in Kingsport for the past 43 years. She was a member of the Missionary Baptist Church in Carter County. Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Bud Chambers of Roan Mountain, Mrs. Bill Forbes, Mrs. John Crawford and Mrs. Corbin Banks, all of Kingsport; four sons, Clyde Teague of Hampton, Tenn., William and Robert Teague, both of Kingsport and Donald Short of Kingsport; three sisters, Mrs. Milburn Forbes of Kingsport, Mrs. John Forbes of Glen Rock, Pa., Mrs. Ester Light of Dayton, Ohio; four brothers, Robert Moffitt of Jefferson, Pa., James Moffitt of Buladean, N.C., Arthur Moffitt of Kingsport, and Elzia Moffitt of Elizabethton; 32 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Long Island Methodist Church, with the Rev. Hubert W. Overbay and Rev. L.H. Umberger officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Memorial Park. The body will be taken to the home at 1727 Park Drive at 10 a.m. Friday. Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home is in charge.
