(41) Elizabeth Alt Sowers (J. Henry, Valentin) Elizabeth Alt was named by her father, Henry Alt, in his will [York co., Pa. Will Bk. N pg. 339-42]. On [York co. Orphans Court Records Vol. 1 pg. 14] December 16, 1817, she became the ward of Frederick William, as did her brother, Henry, and her sister, Christina. On Jun. 6, 1826 Elizabeth was sponsor at the baptism of her sister's infant daughter, Elizabeth Ness, at Christ Lutheran church, York [Vol. 3 pg. 342]. Elizabeth and her husband, Michael Sowers, signed the deed transferring Elizabeth's in interest in the land inherited from her father, to Michael Hartman, on September 10, 1827, the property lying in York and Shrewsbury townships, York county [York co., Pa. Deed Bk. J. L pg. 444].

Elizabeth's husband, Michael Sowers, served in 1835 [York co., Pa. Orphans Court Record Bk. S pg. 19], as administrator of the estate of Elizabeth's mother Christina Bopp, who after the death of Henry Alt had married Ludwig Bopp [York co. Pa. Orphans Court Record Bk. 3N pg. 65], of York township, York county, Pa.
