Disputed origins

There are three different parents listed in the references. Which is correct, Robert Harrington & Isabel Loring, Nicholas Harrington & Isabel English or John Harrington?

Richardson[17] concludes that Sir Nicholas was the father of Elizabeth, John's wife, not Sir Robert, 3rd Baron Harrington or John de Haryngton of Hornby Castle,[18] as have been cited elsewhere. His basis is that Elizabeth's granddaughter, Margaret, is listed as the great granddaughter of Sir Nicholas in her papal indult to marry her second cousin, John Boteler, who also was a great grandchild of Sir Nicholas.[19]

Elizabeth Harrington was born circa 1386 perhaps at Farleton in Melling, Lancashire, England, the primary residence of her parents, Sir Nicholas Harrington, MP, and his wife, Isabella English, the daughter of Sir William English.[1]
She married John Stanley, the son of Sir John Stanley, Lord Lieutenant & Justiciary of Ireland, Justice of Chester, Governor of the City & County of Chester, Constable of Windsor Castle and his wife, Isabella Lathom, before 1405. They had three sons and two daughters:[1]

2. Richard Stanley, Archdeacon of Chester[1][5]
3. Edward Stanley, Archdeacon of Chester[1][5]

5. Isabel Stanley, married John Warren, Esq.[1]

Elizabeth Harrington died after 22 March 1445, when she made an agreement with Richard Towneley for the marriage of his eldest son, John, and Isabel Sherburne, the daughter of her recently departed sister, Agnes Sherburne.[4]
