She married a Nathan Childs, (b.- Abt 1753 in Frederickville Parish, Louisa County, VA & d.- Abt 1828 in Jones County, Georgia). 4.- Stephen C., (b.- Abt 1754 in Kings William County, Virginia). He married a Anne Clement (b.- 20 Oct 1763 in Amelia County, Virginia & d.- Bef 1837 in Edgefield District, SC). 5.- James, (b.- 05 Aug 1758 in King William County, Virginia & d.- Apr 1848 in Granville County, NC). He married a Sarah Thorp, (b.- Abt 1761 in Virginia & d.- Abt 1835 in Granville County, NC). 6.- Sarah, (b.- Abt 1759 in Virginia & d.- Aft 1802 in Edgefield District, SC). She married a Obediah Clements, (b.- in Virginia, & d.- Abt 1801 in Edgefield District, SC). 7.- Mary, (b.- Abt 1760 in Virginia & d.- Abt 1850 in Edgefield District, SC). She married 1st to a William Strom, then 2nd to a John Minter. He was born 1760 in Virginia and died Abt 1788 in Edgefield District, SC).

"Little is know of Elizabeth herself, but she is identified as the daughter of John Gooch in his 1793 Granville County will as the wife of James Terry, also of Granville County, NC. It is through the records left behind by James Terry that we can construct an idea of Elizabeth's life. There was a great deal of intermarriage between the Terry and Gooch families, which may indicate common ancestors in Virginia. James Terry is referred to in the Caroline County, Virginia Order Book in 1776 in a bond to his father-in-law John Gooch, however, in 1760 James' first deed in Granville county identifies his previous place of residence as Hanover County, Virginia [ref: Granville DB, ]. James Terry died in 1799 in Granville County, NC and left a will. Elizabeth is not named in the will and it is assumed she died sometime between 1793 when her name appears in a deed and the writing of Terry's will in 1797 [ref: WB 4, proved Feb Court 1799].
